Authors Note: I wrote a analysis on a short story I had read.
Have you ever really understood a book? The book I chose to read which was There Will Come Soft Rains by Ray Bradbury. In a way that was kind of like a fantasy dream. With robotic mice and a clock that can speak. Other than being hard to under stand it was a very good short story. The whole meaning was really just fiction. It would never happen. Unless maybe it was 2030.
The book sounded futuristic during the whole story. Even the picture on the front made it seem it was later in time. At the beginning it stated that the date was in fact August 4, 2026. Then main setting I think was that there had been a nuclear explosion which since the whole family was outside and when it must of happened the blast made ash fly which hit the side of the house that made it all black. The places where the family was were left white. Also in the book they described how the house itself was the last standing.
Over all I think that the author wrote this book because he wanted to describe what he thinks life would be like in the far future in which I guess in his opinion is going to end up with a huge explosion and a nuclear war or something. In the end the house catches on fire. Then it just ends. I belive this is a odd but strong way to end a book. Making the reader want to read more and more. Thus making a good ending. The whole book was about the future and how a normal house would act like. It was a good short story but I wish it was longer.
