Middle school sucks, well at least for Greg Heffley. Social tripwires, big brothers, and nuclear cheese are all a daily mix for Greg. Follow him as he writes in his diary about his endless plans to become popular which never seem to ever go his way. This book is driven forward not by an unfolding plot, but rather the hilarious failure in Greg's schemes. This book is written just like a journal with pictures and font that look as if it was written by hand. Even down to the lines of the paper. Anyone who love mischief will love this book.

I want to be a Billionare
If I had a billion dollars the first thing I would buy would be a House. It would one of the biggest houses in Wisconsin. Including a huge amount of land surrounding it. Next thing to buy would be furniture. Nice big TVs and Couches. The special rooms in the house would be a bar, pool, greenhouse, man cave, and even a weapon room. A big thing I would like to buy would be a huge plot of land to hunt on and host events. To get to this place I would need someone to drive and something to drive. For Vehicles I would buy a Jeep, 10 Trucks, 10 ATVs, 5 4 Wheelers, 2 Motorcycles, and a Mustang. I would constantly invite people over and have around the clock butlers and maids. But the main thing I want to do is give charity $150,000,000 to The Make A Wish foundation.

My Favorite Team
My favorite team would have to be Fantasy Factory. There leader is Rob Dyrek. Rob Dyrek is a professional skater. Unlike most teams they don’t stick to one sport. They participate in Moto-cross, Basketball, Dirt Bike Racing, Go carting, Paintballing, Basketball, and even Dodgeball.
Though they participate in many different sports/activities they are not a official team. Instead they basically spend a bunch of money on team uniforms and equipment and play the sport until they lose. The only reason I enjoy watching their show is because there is always lots of humor.

Spring DWA
If you woke up suddenly and found yourself on a ship to a new country what would you do? This is how the book The Year of the Hangman by Gary Blackwood starts out. I would certainly be terrified if I was thrown on a random ship to a new country. But that’s just the beginning. This only starts out the awesome level of action and adventure. Making it amazing to read. Sparking this book like he did made it extremely exciting to read and it had the detail to match.
In addition to going to a mysterious new country, Creighton’s home country Britain is fighting American rebels trying to stray off from British personal and have America become its own country. This act was also known as the American War of Independence. History states that America wins and strays to become its own country. In this book the British have won the war and killed America’s leader George Washington. American soldiers have gone underground in their operations and are trying to free the country of British soldiers.
Although while the war is slowly coming to an end Creighton has to pick a side to fight for. His home country that has betrayed him by sending him on a ship to America or he can join the Americans and fight for freedom. Even though his country did this to him Creighton decides to pick the British. This decision leads him to prison escapes, arson, code-cracking, duels, and even more adventures and quests. Although the British supply him with supplies the Americans are robbing British carriages and cargo. Since this is the case he needs to make money to support himself. Bandit raiding has to come to a stop. Without supplies the British are very vulnerable to attack.
Overall this book was a great selection for me. The book should among one of the best action and adventure stories ever written. Along with amazing amounts of detail to support it. Everyone who has an interest in wars of the past would love this book.

Black Gold
Author's Note: Drilling in Alaska will make hundreds of animals lose there homes
and they will die. Do you want that?
and they will die. Do you want that?
When beautiful Alaska turns into an oil giant and wildlife no longer exist there what are you going to do about it? Hopefully this is a question we will never have to bring up. Think of all the animals and people that would lose their homes if we were to drill in Alaska. Most people would be devastated. I want the US to leave Alaska alone. We shouldn’t drill for oil in Alaska’s forests. How would you like it if random people came into your house and made loud noises and made a constant mess of oil throughout your home? I take it you wouldn’t like it. This is the situation in Alaska.
In the first place this could totally backfire on the US. If we were to drill in Alaska we would have to pay for trees to be demolished and for the original people who lived on this land to move somewhere else. Just those costs alone can add up to millions of dollars. Scientist have found that only using this much land is a myth since the oil isn’t concentrated in one area. Rather in 30 different smaller areas. Therefore it would lead to more pipes, roads, and more land needed. This all leads up to more money needed to fund this oil reserve. Money right out of your pocket throughout taxes. What scares me the most is what if there isn’t as much oil as we think there might be? We could end up putting ourselves in even more dept.
In addition with the cost of drilling there are still many issues with the environment. The animals, plants, and even people that live on this 2,000 acre mass of land will have to move or somehow survive on it. This land is home to many animals like Foxes and Bears. They will either have to move out or die. Even if they do move out they will constantly be annoyed by the sound of machinery and workers. For them it’s like living next to an airport and a train station. With constant yelling, bells, whistles, and clanks.
Equally important are the people that already live there. What will happen to them? They may have to move or stay there somehow. This oil Reserve would make more jobs for them. The Inupiat seem to like the idea of the oil reserve on their land. Jobs will then be more available to them and they believe that they will be able to keep clean. I don’t think that you can keep oil clean. The black mess can stain the snow and cause many things to die. This will then cause a problem with pollution. Thus hurting people and the environment.
This is why I don’t want the US to drill in Alaska. It may bring more destruction than redemption. People and animals will lose their homes. This would destroy the ecosystem that is Alaska. Where will these animals live if we take away the plains and forest? They won’t live anywhere. They will die. Do you want hundreds of animals to die? Go against drilling in Alaska. It is not worth the oil on the land.

The Ignorant Tom of the South.
Authors Note: Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain is one of the most exciting books I have ever read.
Tom Sawyer the classic adventurous boy of Missouri was a great book to read. Especially when you would need something to do. This book brought me to think of the 1900’s. When steamboats roamed the south and there were no such thing as a car. This book is about a young boy named Tom Sawyer who lived with his aunt in their small little house. Tom, being one of adventure and fun decides he doesn’t want to go to school. He would rather find treasure and adventure with his friend Huck. This is where the story begins.
I feel Tom can relate to anyone with a spirit of adventure. The person who he reminded me the most of would honestly be my little brother Adam. Adam loves to go outside like Tom. He too dislikes school. He will often fake being sick to avoid school. In the book Tom attempts to fake sick to avoid school. Tom fails in doing so though. Along with Tom’s adventurous side he also seems to have a curious side too. This side reminds me of Curious George. That little monkey with his companion the yellow zoo keeper. Both George and Tom want to always find out what is going on. In Tom’s case he may be a little too curious.
Being the classic that this book that Tom Sawyer is, it has won the hearts of millions with it’s simple yet exciting story. The way Tom uses his tricky ways to make people want to do his work for him makes me feel like I took some of my traits from him. We both like adventure and action. Sadly I’ve never found any treasure like him.
Finally overall this book was definitely a great choice for anyone who likes adventurous books. They even have different levels for people to read it at. This can be very helpful to anyone just starting to read. The author Mark Twain did an amazing job on this book. I would read this book again without a second guessing.
